Riley McLaren Electrical Contractors formed from a merger of G.E Riley Electrical Contractors & McLaren Electrical Services in 2000.

With over 30 years combined experience Guy Riley and Paul McLaren focused on becoming the single electrical contractor in the Bedfordshire region that could offer to undertake both high volume new housing projects and large industrial/commercial projects from design to completion.

Initially operating from Paul McLaren’s garage and employing 1 additional electrician the company’s substantial growth prompted a move into an office and warehouse capable of supporting 12 electricians by March 2001.

NICEIC – (National Inspection Council Electrical Installation Contractors) accreditation awarded 2002.

Completing significant contracts for major new house builders; Barratt Homes, Beaver Homes, J S Bloors, Charles Church, Crest Nicholson, McCann Homes, Persimmon Homes, Redrow Homes, Stamford Homes, Tay Homes, Wilson Connolly and Wimpey the company’s expansion led to them becoming Riley McLaren Electrical Contractors Ltd in September 2003.

Riley McLaren Security Division & Riley McLaren TV and Aerial Installations were created in order to provide a wider range of services.

Riley McLaren were rewarded for their consistent hard work and outstanding customer service receiving Crest Nicholson’s ‘Subcontractor of the Year’ Regional Winner 2003.

And in 2004 received ‘Subcontractor of the Year’ Merit Award for our continued quality.

Recognising the consistant quality workmanship and dedication delivered as standard Persimmon Midlands acknowledged “with grateful thanks the invaluable support provided by Riley McLaren Electrical Contractors” in 2005.

As the company continued to expand, being awarded repeat contracts from numerous new home builders and securing further contracts through recommendation we needed to relocate to bigger offices. 45 electricians and specialist engineers together with 12 office staff moved into a specially designed unit with office, warehouse and purpose built showroom in December 2005.

Riley McLaren are firmly established as the contractor of choice for many local and national building companies. We now employ 90+ electricians and specialist engineers and owe our continuing success to this amazing team of people. The strive for excellence our work force deliver on a daily basis ensures exceptional standards of workmanship and professionalism are achieved on every contract undertaken.
